Concept Design for a series of Community Art and Performance spaces in the Bronx, New York.
Working to an exciting brief set by the New York chapter of the AIA this project looked into the creation of a series of distributed spaces for the creation, exhibition and performance of art alongside a redundant aqueduct connecting The Bronx with Manhattan island.
The proposal suggested recreating physical ‘memories’ of original features of the imposing bridge through which physical space could be inhabited. Their fragmented location along the river allows a number of connections between public space and public buildings and generates a sensual connection with the bridge and the river through access by river taxi.
